Mizuhodai station was opened in 1977 and Fujimino station was opened in 1993. Land readjustment project was conducted around the area before and after the openings of the new stations. Consequently, farm fields on the upland were turned into urban areas.
Nanbata area retains precious paddy area in the outskirts of Tokyo. Farm field improvement was conducted from 1980 to 2003 to be capable of large-scale farming.
