Nanbokuchō Period (14th century)
Battle of Hanekura

A warfare began in 1350 between Takauji the first Shogun of Muromachi Bakufu regime and his younger brother Naoyoshi. Takauji defeated Naoyoshi in the battle of Sattasan, Suruga Province, in December 1351. Nanbata Kurōsaburōfs soldiery battled with Takauji allies marching to Fuchū (Fuchu City, Tokyo) around the present-day Hanekura bridge in 19th December, and Kurōsaburō was defeated and died.

Kishin-jō (Documentation of Donation, photo): Kamakura-kubō donated former Nanbata territory to the Tsurugaoka-Hachiman-gū shrine.
